It was dark, cold and very windy on the mountain.....but I was amazed at what the camera picked up....while looking for the AURORA......

I never cease to be amazed by what the camera can pickup in the dark. I am assuming these are city lights of some sort.

As far as the Aurora is concerned, my recent experience has surprised me by the colours that the camera can see that my eye does not see, either at all, or very poorly. Good luck with your hunt.

Spaceweather is suggesting that June 27 maybe a good night for the
Aurora as there was a significant sunspot eruption during the early hours of June 25th, producing an M7.9-class solar flare and a lopsided CME. The CME will hit Earth's magnetic field on June 27th, probably mid-day Universal Time. According to NOAA computer models there is a 79% chance of polar geomagnetic storms. High-latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras.

Not sure if that includes Australia or not, but I am going to be watching for alerts in my part of the world.
