Hey, I was walking through the mall the other day, and a guy had a photo stand set up so you could get portraits done, it was a nice set up. He had his lights and such, and backgrounds, then he had his camera on a tripod, which was plugged into his iMac. When he took a picture, it showed up on his mac right away.

I have a nikon d40, and am starting to get into some portrait stuff, and I use mac. Any ideas what software he was using? When i plug my camera into my mac, i cant take pictures it just allows me to transfer the photos from the camera to the computer.

    Any help would be apperciated.

That would depend on which camera he was using. You will need to look into the Nikon software for tethering.

Nikon Camera Control. Check if a mac version is available. Also if the D40 works like other Nikon cameras you need to set the USB mode to ptp not mass storage.
