Eh, I was super excited for this shoot, but things simply didn't pan out.

Took me a bit to arrange for a model, next thing I know we're out there wandering around the lake, looking for these flowers which were supposedly everywhere. BS, I tell you. It wasn't until about a minute before sunset that we finally found them, and then we simply lost the light. Not enough time to set anything up.

At that point, I went into salvage mode, trying to scrape together some new shots. Everything I had planned was counting on a sunset, and now I didn't have that. I'm not thrilled with the results, but I also don't hate them. More and more I find myself using more negative space, and shooting wider with my portrait subjects.

Oh well, better luck next time.

1. I promise, she doesn't hate me. We were going for a decidedly downtrodden look.

FWIW, I think they're great, especially the first!

I definitely agree with negative space. I typically like more negative space.
