alison, i wish i had your knack for photographing people. these are very very nice and if i might add, quite a young looking grandma there! ;)

That's the first thing I noticed about your mom.

On the third pic he does look a little bewildered that there is nothing in his bowl. Mom neglecting her duties ;)

I like the dof on the last picture, makes the young sleepy lad stand out.

Enjoyed the story and pictures.
 
Thanks everyone! My Mom is 55, so she probably is considered young to have two grandsons already :D These were taken with a 50mm using natural light and the 10D was set to 400ISO for the 1st three and 1600 for the last one.

JonMikal, I'll make you a deal....I'll go take something non-people if you share some of your people photography :D

Surprising to see minimal or zero noise for the 1600. Did you clean it?

Nope, just cropped and converted to b/w. I've been really impressed with the 10D for limited noise. I shot my last wedding reception with 400ISO + flash and the results were great even at enlarged sizes.
