M-Mount and Ef

Hello there photographers!
Well, I've bought a 16mm m-mount lens and possess a 7d camera which is an Ef Mount as far as I know. Does the lens fit ? what kind of image loss should I expect, given its an asp c sensor (in terms of speed and softness, I know the crop factor) . Is there an adaptor to be used that you recommend ?

Welcome to the site. An m mount will not fit on a 7D without and adapter. I purchased one a couple of years ago and wasn't happy with it. The additional glass, I felt caused issues.

Thanks for the response ronlane, guess I need to buy an adapter anyway, which was the name of the one you bought, and what were those issues anyway ?

I don't even remember the brand of it. The issue was that it wouldn't focus tack sharp for me. I haven't tried it on my lens with my 7D but with my T3i, it didn't work really well. It seemed to be a soft focus.

I guess I should get it back out and try it again since I upgraded to the 7D.

I got it off Amazon. (Search M mount to EF mount)

How about buying an EOS M for the M lens and an EF lens for your 7D. EOS M is handy when you need a smaller gear that delivers high quality images.
