Please excuse me if this has been asked before.

If I have 2 lenses:

1. Regular 200mm with a focusing distance of 1.7ft and a reproduction ratio of 1:4.5
2. MACRO 200mm with a focusing distance of 1.7ft and reproduction ratio of 1:1
If I take a picture from the same 1.7ft away, will the images be the same? I assume the MACRO picture will be larger.

I thought the reproduction ratio was a result of how close you could get. Is this true?

Thank you all in advance.

Yeah from what i know the macro lenses has the ability to focus closer and to magnify opposed to regular lenses...
I think that the image taken with the macro lens will be larger...

I got the chance to try out a lens and see the difference today. Yes, the macro image is bigger at the same distance and focal length. Pretty cool.
