Making your eyes stand out

how would you come about doing this to show your natural eye color, in depth of course. But still having not straight up on the eye .
 
I'd use photoshop or GIMP.

first duplicate your layer. Then go to the "colorize" tab in the colors adjustments. From here you can change the hue of the entire image, so change it to the color of the eyes that you are emphasizing. After that create a layer mask and fill with black (full opacity). Then get a white paintbrush set to 25 or 30% opactiy and brush in the color until you get what you want. apply the mask and BAM, you're done

note: I use GIMP, it may not be called "colorize" in PS.
