Here's the problem: The camera will only fire the flash once out of every 20 or so shots. It seems to me like the internal contacts are probably dirty. Is there any hope to clean them myself? Or is it taking a trip back to KEH?

Flash shoe or PC terminal issue? You can carefully clean out the PC terminal on the body. I'd use a tooth pick, isopropyl/rubbing alcohol, and some lens tissue to get rid of any crud around the center post.

It's both. I've cleaned out both the PC and flash shoe, thinking that was the issue. I think it's the contacts inside the camera, but I can't seem to get at them.

The only times I've had problems like this it was because the male PC connector was loose. A little squeeze with a pair of pliers did the trick.

Otherwise it's back to KEH I'm afraid.
