Kinda. Are they surreal? Maybe a bit. Are they deep?
Not intended to be.... "

I agree with you. This is shallow.

This is not art, or fooling around.
This is utmost bad taste.
This is DISGUSTING.

I ask you to remove it from the forum.

Ben

It doesn't need to be removed just because you don't agree with the symbolism.
He is hardly making a nazi statement.
This is superficiality at its best but it still deserves to be shown as much as anyone else's stuff.
It is disgusting because of what it might represent to you and that is far different from the intention so i would tell you to just deal with it or don't look at it again.
Even if that was the intention it would be in bad taste but if it is done with honest and thoughtful insight and as well as presented in a very professional manner then it still deserves to be shown.

Stop being so needlessly sensitive.Victimhood is a thing of the past, it's time to stand above that.

Millions of people around the world, and quite a few Parliaments which
banned this symbol, think differently.

'Trenton Romulox' was very aware of the offensive nature of what he was
publishing. He proves this fact with his very first words –
"If a moderator sees this first shot and feels as if it should be removed
due to the swastika, feel completely free to"

There are many disgusting things that "honest and thoughtful insight" or
"professional manner" don't justify their publication. This is one of them.

"Stop being so needlessly sensitive.Victimhood is a thing of the

Holocaust deniers and Anti-Semites often use such arguments.

You are hardly in the position to preach anything to me, or to publish
a baseless "interpretation" of what I think.

Feel free to regard a mass-murder of your nation as "a thing of the past",
to think that "it's time to stand above that", and to be completely "not
sensitive" to it.
Preaching this, to people of another nation, is audacity.

Trying to determine for me what I should think or how I should regard
any issue, is audacity.

I ask that the Swastika, which was posted here with the OP's full awareness
that it might bother others, will be kicked out of this forum.

This is fooling around. And this is also art. I'm not sure how you can justify saying something is not art just because it offends you. And this is also surely not 'utmost bad taste'. There are much worse things I could do with an image than simply place a swastika in one.

So because something offends you, I should lose my artistic rights? That's absolutely ludicrous. You're being insanely hypocritical with your arguments, and I don't think you have any idea because you've never taken a second to look at yourself because you're far too busy defending yourself when nobody has even attacked you. You talk about the audacity of someone telling you how you should think, but here you are telling me how I should think. And by that, I mean that you want me to think along your lines and remove the image. You should really get past yourself, because you're blocking art.

ok, before this conversation goes any further i will make a few points then you can all please move on.

This won't be removed, the section is called 'The darkside gallery' and has a clear sticky on the top of the forum with a warning and explination of what you may find in here.
If you are easily offended then don't look in here as we don't want these threads to turn into needless arguements.
If you are unsure about a topic or persons response, report it to a mod rather than continue to argue or try to make someone else look stupid.

This is the end of this matter, so the conversation can now turn back to the images themselves.

You can call me anti-semite all you want Ben.
trite phrases like that coined and personalized for political gain
will never influence a single thought or cause a single ounce of compassion from me.
I will however respond to people who act like humans and not raving lunatics.
This is really close to bordering on political things so I am finished talking about this with you.
You sir take yourself far too seriously.
no one else seemed to be offended by it... perhaps because they see it for what it is..
the attempt at showing the son of a mass murderer ( from the USA ).
You are offended by your own interpretation. It is that simple.
Perhaps if it was a dead Palestinian on his forehead instead of the swastika you would react with such bravado? Hmm? maybe......

ok, but now is the time for everyone to move on please. Thankyou.

This suits me, as neither the personal and political attacks nor the choice
of words deserve a reply, on a photography forum or anywhere.

I like the first one the most - it has the strongest emotional impact (partly due to the swastika), and it connects best to the title. I agree with others about the PP blood though, and I do feel like you could push the edge more. Thanks to you I learned a bit about fascism in the US as well. Thanks!

ps. A bit of advice: when posting pictures with content that might be offensive to someone, maybe it's better not to write you were "fooling around" (even though I understand it can be fun to play different roles etc.). You pictures will have much more weight and meaning, and are therefore taken more serious. and will not lead to moral and political discussions as often.

seeing as tho people cannot follow the forum rules, the thread is going to be locked im affraid.
