Some photos from the MCAS Miramar Air Show here in San Diego:
Great photographs! Id love to see these guys some day.
A lot of your pictures, such as #1,2,4,6,7 all suffer from the same flaw. Blue planes on a lighter blue background(sky) really wash out the pictures. Theres not much to look at besides the planes themselves, and the since the planes themselves are very blue, it washes out the background a lot.
On the otherhand, #3 and 5 have lots of clouds and enhance the pictures quite a bit. The difference in quality between #1 and #5, which are slightly similar in composition, is a lot. To me anyways.
#9, and #11 are my hands down favorites. Those are amazing pictures. Keep it up.
The sky was completely gray and overcast. It was the best I could manage bumping it up in post or trying to fake it entirely. Some turned out OK, some not as much... But the planes themselves all turned out well, which I certainly prefer over the alternative: perfect sky, underexposed planes.
nice! i also agree with #9 and #11 being the best.
what sort of glass were you using for most of these? i focus on aircraft photography so i'm just curious.
11. The harrier is the best shot. The heat off the pavement gives that feeling of action and anticipation. I love these machines.
