    Hello All,
So my friend is a DJ who mixes some legit techno-trance. recently he had a gig in central spokane and so i came along and shot some stuff with my wee lil d40 [i want a d90 or d200 SOOOOO bad; but alas i am a poor college dude] . Also i had my dad's old strobe flash from a pentex SLR and that really made the shots amazing (i had to use the internal flash last year and it kinda of sucked). I had never used a strobe before so i really had no idea what i was doing, although i am really proud of my shots (there was another photographer there who had like $800 of equipment over me and i think my shots are very much better) ..

well enough chit chat, here are some of the goods (i think ill post a few every few days, as i continue editing them, sorry the quality is low, i am using facebook for hosting purposes..)

feel free to critique and slam me, i do not mind honest feedback- it makes me better.. the one thing i wish i had done was get more faces in the crowd, and use a longer exposure to capture some ambient light. also the 'noise' is from all the smoke, my ISO was at 200 (i know not to make that common club photo mistake..)

anywho- here are the first few

please next time can you put a number on each pic, please? it will be easier for us to comment them.
composition: I like the 2nd and the 7th, however on the 2nd I don't see the focus
others are also good, but I like them little bit less

I like #6 the rest aren't doing anything for me.
You need to transfer more excitement into your images.

It's a rave right ? The image behind the dj head shows the crowd but U can't really make them out, adds excitement kinda. For the crowd shots I would shoot when they're more animated or go for different angles. But as the title states what ur showing means something entirely different in my perspective.

basically i think are more like you guys are talking about- like more excitement and energy and crowd shots.. its just i focused a lot on the DJ b/c they were for him..
