messing with the new lens

this was taken with my new 100mm canon ...
i think the flower is called a gerber? not that you could tell by this shot anyways

here is a birdy with the same lens ....this one seems a little dark to me maybe

I dont think the second one is too dark, but I guess i'd have to see it lighter to decide..sometimes it surprises you. I like the first one, its interesting..im wondering if a different angle wouldnt have added drama

man i love the limited depth of field... snaps your eyes right to the subject, and i dont think the bird shot is too dark, i mean that bird looks chilly, that would be odd if it was brighter i.e. full sun....

thanks guys...and i guess i see what you mean by the lighting of the bird....its not like i sat there and thought about what i wanted the picture to look like.....i seriously had just put the new lens on the camera when i got that picture....so i guess im lucky it turned out like it did
