I'm looking to film interviews with 2 people sitting on a park bench speaking and responding to questions together. I currently do not own a microphone as this is my first time shooting this type of video. What would you recommend as an affordable solution that offers decent sound quality?
I understand lav mics can be quite handy in many situations, but I'm not sure it's most practical with two people since it can really only clip to one of them. I've considered a shot gun mic that sits on top of the camera with a windshield, but to my knowledge I need to quite close to the subject to capture good sound quality. I'm using a 50mm lens to shoot the video on a Nikon D5300, so it may not be feasible to only be a couple feet from the subject.
Thanks for your help / suggestions!
