You can take photos in complete darkness and in very limited light. They just probably won't be very good unless you have flash, high iso film, large aperture lens, etc. The limitations of SLR cameras film and digital are roughly the same. Unless you are shooting in complete blackness with an IR strobe going off with IR film in your camera.

You're probably not doing that though...
 
All cameras (except Infrared) need at least some light. The word photography is derived from the Greek words meaning "Photos" and "Drawing"....

well thisw camera is almost totally automatic..it does have the optio0n to do manual focus....it doest have an aperture on the lens..any suggestions?thanks
