What is a good way to take a pic of a mirror?
From what I can tell you wouldn't be able to tell it is a mirror without having a reflection.

what I want to create is to have a broken mirror with two main pieces seperated. On those two peices a face.

Do you want a face on each broken peice of a face between the two peices?

One way would be to place the broken mirror on a table with the camera and a large photograph of the face above it. Position the two so the camera can see the face in the mirrors but not itself.

What about using a piece of plain broken glass? You could try to set it up so it looks like you're shooting from the mirror but unless you have a one way mirror you can't do.
The broken glass may work or it may look very obviously glass!
