one of my new students ask about some old files with a mix extension.

anyone here know if these can be "changed" to jpeg and if so, how.

I believe this is a very old micosoft type extension but is way before my experince with digital files.

thanks for any direction that can point me in as google only led to ix stuff and that wasn't helpful

I've not heard of it either, but I was a digital latecomer, 2004. H

Simply Google "mix file extension" and you'll find the info you need.

Its a Microsoft format used by several of their applications. You'll need to install one of the compatible MS apps in order to open and resave the files in a more widely supported format.
