    saw lots of garter snakes on my hike yesterday. There was a third baby, but I scared him :(

    I went to Great Falls yesterday. It's more of a walk than a hike. Wonderful place to go.

    I saw an AWESOME praying mantis there once... but, alas, no camera with me. :-(

    Thanks. Really, no snakes? I don't get to see many, but they are one of my favorite things to see on a hike.

    I find that Riverbend is the best area for insects.

    I love the first shot! They posed quite nicely for you, didn't they? I think the composition is perfect.

    That came out great!! As much as a snake possibly can, she looks like she's being a fierce protective mother.. I love that! Good work :)
