Thanks for digressing! This is very cool information.

The first were a bit wierd for me, but provided bits of background. I've been on jstor before and usually hit walls, but from one of the articles' first pages I think I got that the venom is injected after the prey is caught to accelerate/facilitate disgestion? Oh-Ilk, and how cool! That would explain why the fangs are located in the back instead of the front.

The last link talks about tracing the venom back to where the two families divided? This blows me away how people can do this.

I'll read more after I calm down. There's just so much to know, and time is so short.

I get the same way after the Desert Symposiums I go to each year- very cool, I'm like the only non-scientist /geologist /paleontologist /botantist /biologist /archaeologist /what-not there- just a grinning idiot with a camera. They like me 'cause I say stupid things :).
