I think I like the second one better.

I like the processing in the first better, because you know the young one is in the shadow of the mother, and think it could do with some cropping but not quite as much as the second. Maybe 4:3 format landscape and lose whats left over on the left.

Thank you both for your inputs, I like the second better but I agree with you BrentC, I like the shadow of the 1st being over the young one - lol I may kick it around some more!!! lol
