Motion Panning

Hi,
Tried to do some panning after reading on the net.
Was bit conscious of standing on the road so gave a first shot from my balcony (5th floor).
Would you call this motion panning?

The background is blurred in a straight motion, the car is in focus. So yes, you did good. The pictures themselves are pretty boring and straightforward, but you got the technique down.

Sorry, but I have to say that you really need to work on getting a good exposure first, before you worry about things like this. Between this and your post about blurring the background, it's clear that exposure should be your first concern.

Thanks Matt, please tell me a bit more specifically that what do you think is wrong (lacking) in those snaps so that I can work specifically on that.
Those were the snaps taken at city mall with indoor light available without flash.
