My nephew out on the ice enjoying an afternoon of racing.

Note to self. When you see your wife feeding your six year old nephew bran flakes for breakfast do not take him out for a happy meal :irked: Lets just say as soon as we arrived at the race we had to leave and go find a washroom :sad anim: Forty minutes later the photography resumed :)

    Eric

I will be adding more images of the race at http://www.airic.ca/html/ice_racing_2005.html in the next day or so.

    Picksure,

Its not that hard, you just have to practice panning. Most of the images were taken at 800/sec but for a few I dropped the speed down to 125/sec to capture motion blur. The photo of the wipeout was captured at 125th and luckily it looks great. I banged off four as he slid by of which two are sharp. The other two are not bad but I would like to see them clearer. As you can tell I like sharp vibrant shots. The races are a blast to watch.

If only one of my photos of moving objects would come out like this - and my moving "objects" only swim - which can never, not even among the best, be as fast-moving as these....
