Much better than I thought it was going to be, and half of that was due to the little girl. She all but stole the movie.

The movie was also much more violent than expected. I'm not sure how this is classified as a kids movie, with the violence and language in it. But for teens and up I would say its a good, fun movie.

Its not a "kids movie" or even early teen. Its Rated R.

I enjoyed it and hitgirl was a showstealer but I read the comic and knew that would happen.

Ah cool, I was under the impression it was supposed to be a kids movie. Either way, was a fun flick :)

I haven't seen it, but i also heard the same thing about it being unexpectedly violent... hehehe

I'll have to go see it some time..... or download it

Also, apparently it was originally supposed to be a kids/preteen type movie but there was controversy over it and what not so i guess they changed the rating to 18A/R
I don't know i saw an article a while back on it but didn't really read it just kind of skimmed through a few sentences and it mentioned that parents were mad and what not over it... sooo yea. I could have been totally missing the picture as i only read a bit of it but yea.
So yea don't hold me to it. lol

Their is no way Kick-Ass could have ever been a kid movie.

This movie is based on a comic and the story follows very closely. That comic is incredibly violent and bloody. To make it kid/teen safe and keep the story is imposable. From the earliest discussion and interviews with the writer adn director they said the intent was to make it and American R rating.

Kick-Ass is the rarest of films, a successful hybrid of two genres that provides a near-perfect cinematic experience. My only criticism would be that some scenes toward the end were a bit exaggerated, but in a film where suspension of belief is necessary, maybe I am a bit difficult.

Ok so i finally saw it as well. I too, was expecting sort of a blah movie but it actually turned out to be not a bad movie. It was actually pretty good! I totally see the whole 'how the f could Kick Ass be a kids movie?' argument now. I wasn't expecting it to be quite that violent but hey, even better right?

It had the Kill Bill feel going, which I like. I thought it was good.

Still isnt the Bond or Bourne series. Or Man on Fire

I don't think it was trying to be Bond or Bourne (I love the Bourne series, and Casino Royale was one of the best action movies I have seen in quite a while). Those are spy-action, while Kick Ass was comic adaptation.

I agree it had a Kill Bill feel, which I also liked. It was Kill Bill without the over-long "atmosphere" scenes.
