Movie Review: THe Book of Eli

Ugh... well, visually it is an awesome movie.

But if you don't like preachy movies, stay FAR away from this one. You'll find your eyes getting tired from all the rolling they will do. And by preachy, I mean literally preachy .. "I bring the King James Bible!". Good grief.

Anyway, if you enjoy "300" style movie visuals, and don't mind being preached too with a big, corny, heavy hand - then give it a shot. Otherwise, just watch "The Road" (or better, read it!).

Yeah, corny and predictable.

If you have ever played Fallout 3, you'll see huge similarities to the Book of Eli. The acting was ok, Denzel was good, but the story line was just lacking.

And preachy as hell. I didnt mind it so much, but my wife couldn't stand it.

It's the risible writing and the self-important, self-righteous tone that ultimately prevents this odyssey from becoming the classic action film to which it aspires. It is nice to know that even after the apocalypse, people will still be listening to Al Green.
