This is a good list - thanks :thumbup: I already have a copy of The Photographers Eye.

And I did search Amazon.com, my local library and my friends before asking the question

I really liked the books of Scott Kelby. He's very honest and realistic and tells you how it is. Maybe more a book for the real beginner, but also incredibly funny!

I love love love Freeman Patterson books. They are great. Highly recommend these for beginners.

Just do the opposite of what he says. Everything he says is wrong.

my number one favorite book so far is one the OP already has "The Photographers Eye" by Michael Freeman.
