My Beautiful Cake. Om nom nom.

Perhaps the cake was more beautiful than the photo. I'm not sure on the cropping, and I am now aware that the glass serving thing wasn't completely clean... well, it was clean, but I should have wiped it down. There is a water spot that find extremely annoying. Using natural light at 3:10PM, sitting on the kitchen table. How can it be improved?

The angle and crop are awkward. You can't even tell what you're looking at.

Very good point... I guess, because I took the picture, I just automatically fill in the missing portions in my head. I'll keep the audience in mind more than my view in the future. The lighting I had forced the angle, shadows fell on the cake. If I moved it into the light, you could see off of the table, and that looked even worse.

A nicely cur slice of the cake would probably make a better shot. You could have the slice in he foreground on a small plate with a fork, and use the remainder of the cake as background.
