Some will let you get within 20-30' others are gone at 100.

This one was being baited by a local tour guide that was out. Even though I don't bait, he'll let me sit in and I'm not going to loose the opportunity for shots I would otherwise not get.

Really nice work! We've had two snowy sightings in WA this winter... had hopes it might be an "irruption" year, but it seems all the owls are in Michigan and Minnesota... I did manage to get some decent shots of one perched on somebody's roof, but that was it. Nothing like your great shots...
