My ditch the sony challenge. (aka, no shot is a wasted shot)

Well, I haven't had much time for TPF today. We spent our day in the woods cutting and loading up trees for fire wood. I am thoroughly exhausted and ready for a nap, but still have pies to bake for thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Anyways, I didn't want to get behind on my project so here are two more shots.

I spent a few minuets yesterday chasing a spider around the floor in macro mode. He was UGLY, and terribly lit, thought I did get a few in focus. I won't bother posting those, but I wasted a good 10 - 15 shots on him. :)

1) Last nights sun set. I wish the moon were bigger, but I liked the way it was peeking through the clouds.

2) One of our local deer, taken just up the road from home.

Yesterday was day three. I enjoyed a lovely thanksgiving with some dear family friends. They deliver quite a feast every year! No pictures of the main food since I was helping in the kitchen. But, the table was full from end to end, as well as the buffet. Not a bad bite to be tired!

Day four is over. I intended to try some water shots today, but I am pretty tired so looks like that will have to be tomorrow. Sometimes you have to settle for yet another sunset I guess. ;-)

I always bracket these with the intentions of doing an HDR but I just never get it right. Someday it will all click and maybe I can do something with the files. Until that day, I shall appreciate the silhouette's.

Well, I suppose I "lost" the challenge because I DID pick up my sony. I wanted to compare the DOF between the crop sensor and ff when it came to macro shots. Im actually quite astonished at the results. The DOF wasn't terribly different, but MY OH MY were the results different. Im sure much of this is glass, and I'm not sure how much the different sensors come into play here. Its quite disappointing however how badly my $1000 sony lens was beat out by the $150 nikon lens. The colors seem, IDK? Richer? More Dynamic?
In attempt at a fair comparison, these aren't the best shots from each lens, but the ones that had the same settings/background.
The first two shots were just imported and converted to jpeg. The second two had the same edits applied.
