It a little too soft IMO, also the object in the background is distracting to me, it needs to be ether out of site behind your face or extend out to near edge of the frame

Dont avoid it. Keep trying and improve. I think you have an intriguing face and would be a great subject for portraits.
Dont ever steer clear cause u took one shot that isnt perfect. Id never take any if that were the case hehe
Sorry, I did not mean to discourage you. I agree will Manda about your facial features being good to photograph. I was think that a sharper focus would help your features stand out more.A sharp or soft focus is a personal preface and that up to you
A distracting or clutter backgrounds is common mistake IMO, just keep trying
