My First Photo with Flash.

No no no, camera is always in manual - flash was in auto (and after putting it in manual, I'm comfortable with either)...

I took a picture of a guy back-pedaling once... he fell off his bike and died.

That's awesome. I wish I was there.

wonderful, however i think i see the problem, you were on aperture priority (semi-auto), try using Auto, or manual, also if you turn the flash around and point it backwards it would also lessen this "white effect" that you used
