My first shot

I took this at the MET in NYC, thought it looked nice, would appreciate some feedback.

I like it! looks like a good 1/3 rule shot. The DOF is good not too blurry and crisp enough to know whats behind it. *thumbs up from me*

Well it is in focus and reasonably well-composed.
It doesn't however, say anything, it evokes no interest or emotion. The background is bright, relatively in focus and thus takes attention away from the face and competes with it in tone.
The statue is - well - a statue.

I agree with Traveler: there's too much going on in the back. My eyes don't stay on the statue. Maybe try a crop?
