my first wedding

I was in a wedding a few months ago and took a bunch of pictures.

The ring bearer and his mother.

The groom and his dad.

They danced and dipped.

A groomsman dances with his girl.

She's had enough dancing.

No rice to throw.

It's official.

The wedding's over. Party in my room!

Hopefully this isn't too many pictures for one post. What do you think?

you've got some nice shots here what's causing the heavy, heavy grain tho? hi-speed film or what? I don't mind it too much but it may not go over too well with a client (don't think that's your intent here but just saying)
1 and 2 and the last two are my faves. thanks for sharing

Thanks for the reply. I was rating at 12,800 ASA in some instances....hence the grain. Not a big fan of the flash. I like the grain, but I know it's not for everyone. It was a bit of an experiment to see how far I could push the stock before it completely went to crap. I think it held up very well for being pushed so much.

Sure is. I love that stock! I also shot the Ilford 3200 stock as well. The Ilford is finer grained but quite a bit less contrasty. Both are very nice.

I'd have composed the 'Ring bearer and his Mother' differently, ie, lose the unwated space on the right; close in on the mom, child, the portrait and the chair. But that's just me.

Which camera and lens, if I may ask?

Thanks for the kind words. For the ring bearer shot I only had a split second to get the shot, so moving in for better composition wasn't an option. I see what you're saying, it just wasn't possible.
I shoot with a Canon F1 (old style). The lens I used for these shots is a Canon 50mm F1.4.

Yeah, the speed is nice. It sure saved me for these shots.

Love 'em!!!. The "moment" is there in every frame. The quality is a little tough, but that is just a personal thought.
