I'm 2nd shooting a wedding on Oct 23rd.
I went by the church today as well, and got some pre shots.

I am going to rent a 70-200 2.8 af-s for my NikonD3000.
I will also be renting a D200 with a 50mm 1.8.

I have a few other lens
the kit 18-55
the kit 55-200
and 35 1.8

I also have an SB-600.

Flash is allowed in the church.

These were all taken with my 35 1.8

It looks like there's lots of light. That's good. What's the f/#'s on your kit lenses? The 35 f/1.8 is nice for the light it lets in, but you're going to have to be right in there faces, lol.

The 70-200 f/2.8 will be a big help. I think you'll be ok if you leave this one on the camera. I'd only switch to the 35 f/1.8 if I was doing artsy shots of the church or rings or something after the wedding. It would probably be ok for the group shots, as well.

Good luck! If you can, post some of the pics afterward.

Yes, that looks much brighter than some of the 'caves' I've shot in.

How is the ceiling? (do you think you'll be able to bounce the flash)?

In one of the pictures of the windows, you can see that the wall continues up some. It looks too tall to bounce off of. I'd be willing to bet it's not a flat ceiling.

The ceiling is way high, I don't think I'm going to be able to bounce.

I will probably shoot the ceremony with the 70-200 2.8 tripod mounted.
but I am going to rent the D200 and have the 50 1.8 just so I don't have to change lens and I'll have two cameras just incase....

Bride is paying for the rental and I'm renting them from the studio I work so 25 for everything....for the entire weekend!

Tripod? Really? I wouldnt. You might hit somebody with it when you try to get good picture when they are leaving LOL.

I meant I'd have it ready to mount. lol
I probably would do something like that!
I am such a klutz.

Crystal, scrap the tripod. Dont' bother with it. It'll be more of a hastle than good. TRUST me :)

you are renting a lot of equipment. hopefully you will make some money at the end of the day.

DO YOU HAVE A FLASH?

haha not D300, D3000, missing a zero there. I wish I had the D300....
I am shooting with an entry level beginners DSLR but I'm renting a D200, well not really renting, using is a better word. I want two cameras for many different reasons, mainly so I don't have to change lens all the time, just cameras!

so no tripod. but what his face used a tripod on his video! lol

and the bride is paying for all my rentals, well she is actually paying more, I quoted 40 dollars per day per item, I needed two days with 3 items... 240 dollars, however, I am only paying 25 total.
Plus she is paying for my babysitter... lol don't laugh that is a big expense 10 dollars an hour for 12 hours, another 120 dollars, but I'm only paying someone 50 dollars.
so yes, I am making a tiny bit of money, but I am not doing this for the money, I am doing it for the experience. This will be my first wedding.
