Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Ok

here my 2 cents on photography and art...

I got my first camera when I was 15 years old, I was following just some ideas, some images traveling around Europe.
Immediately I realized that travels and photography were totally and intimately connected.
What I do believe regarding photography, what is really unique making a photo and what I look for when I click the button is the moment; the unique and unrepeatable point of view.
I don't mind about how you made the photo, how ethical is to modify a photo with a computer or in a lab, how important is the technique. What I do care is hunting the perfect instant, I'm trying to stop the unrepeatable second forever, a unique solid crystal that remains in the Sea of the time flow.
My idea regarding photography maybe is an old school style view, but I think that it does not matter so much the theory, the sophistication of the camera. I know of course that quality is important, especially for a professional, especially for the business and the market, but finally there will be always someone that can make the shoot better then you.
What is really art, in my humble opinion, is that no one will be ever able to fix the same special and unique moment, no one will be ever able to have the same instinct and sensibility. So, together with the moment it follows, with the same importance, the light, the amazing light of nature, the colors, the contrast, the blend, the intensity.

I just moved in June 2009 to digital Canon 450D and right now I'm still discovering the enormous potential of a digital camera and I'm really amazed. Probably is just the dawn of a new age but, beside the digital revolution, a photo does never comes to life for real until printed it...

i agree. i seem to find a lot of people who take a picture and use a computer to make it a photo. i like to make it the best photo i can before i upload it, then slightly edit it with cropping and basic stuff. im proud to say i never use photoshop. :D
but im glad someone here thinks similarly to the way i do

Hello there... now... during the next days I'm going on with a full immersion in Raw photos... basically my idea is that whatever I can not do just with few regolations in a Raw software then... I should not do!

So basically... I will use Raw software as a modern darkroom... then whatever products come out from there... ok... that was my results as photographer!

I do not want even touch Photoshop from now on... as is not my art!
Make a website (I do that) is also another form of art.... do not forget that graphic and surrealism are also arts... but definetely is not art the case of that videos I got and posted (there are tons of them  on YT).

Regards

I photograph mostly outdoors and carry a pocket camera when hiking and climbing rocks, gulleys...whatever.
I like to 'catch that' moment.
It is far more fun to shoot a great moment than to try and 'make' one in photoshop.

My father was a stickler on this. His thoughts on photography were~~get it right the first time.
Of course he didn't have the luxury of digital.

Your father was a good one!

That is why we use the verb shoot!!!

I owe so much to that man...if he only knew how good he was!
Some day I'm going to get into his boxes of slides and poke around...thousands and thousands of brilliant photos.
