for the brightness and highlights... I wanted to achieve something like high key effect but I am not sure if I seuccedeed here or not.

From what I found out for one of the assignments here was for High Key you need to light the subject to reduce the majority of shadows and expose just up to the point where detail is lost and over exposure starts. This is where the overall, even lighting comes in, to eliminate the darker areas.

Maybe try adjusting the angle to look slightly more at the lit cheek too?
