I made a separate layer with a straight line and lined it up with the flag pole, it seemed straight to me.

Any suggestions to help.

duplicate the layer
edit>transform>distort
once there, pull the edges til it lines properly.

do you have this option in elements?

I do have the feature, but I'm not sure I get what you did...

When you click on Transform handles will appear in the corners. Drag the top handles out or the bottom ones in to correct the distortion.:thumbup:
