Natural flight - Cardinal caught on takeoff

    I actually took this quite some time ago and have since lost the orignal. I wish I could rescan it with a better scanner now but back "in the day" I had the best I could afford. Either way, an impressive shot; what's the chance of it repeating?!

    About 3:00pm during the day
    Canon AV-1
    50' air powered shutter release (squeeze bulb)
    yes, flash used
    And the best part... just chilling in the afternoon breeze, laying on the hammock we had purchased a few years prior from Nags Head Hammocks down south by the ocean.

    I love the wing stretch! I've never caught one doing that before, with or without a camera.

    It wasn't uncommon to setup the camera at any particular feeder of ours but then most of the pictures were just "birds." Needless to say, an action shot like this was never expected.
