    While walking around a marshland conservation area, I came across this little woodpecker. It was only after I started shooting that I realised he only had one foot. But that didn't seem to affect his self image

    I'm surprised to see he did not fly away.
    He COULD have done THAT ... when hopping away might have been more difficult.
    And did not.
    Possibly because YOU came to take his pic and not I.
    Birds tend to fly away when I come ... ! :er:

    Ah. But I had birdseed. At this point I had been in the same spot for half an hour and he came looking for more.

    resilient little guy, i saw a pigeon like that once... i was amazed it could get around that well.
