Need a photo mentor

Im an aspiring photographer that would love to find someone who could give me pointers. I learn a lot better person to person. Ive been reading a few books but I just cant seem to get the hang of things by reading alone. I dont have the time to take classes being active duty military. Are there any pro/semi pro photographers in south eastern CT that could help me out from time to time. Im not sure if this even a normal question but I thought Id give it a try. Thanks all.

You could always try posting stuff here and asking for advice - either openly or by PM. It can work.

Looks like that may be all I can get. Its more the mechanics of it that I need some help with. Oh well...

(Im not any expert, but I am just like you, a beginner who loves to learn, and we could learn off eachother.. and it seems like we live really close too)
