Need Feedback

Hey all, I could use some feedback on this image. I like it, but what do you all think? Those are white pelicans.

I "get" the idea underlying this. To me it's not 100% successful, for some reason that's difficult to discern. I'd like to see a bit more info on the shadow side of the pelicans, just a little more visual info to better differentiate the various birds from one another. The four sleeping birds on the far right...I think they kind of hurt the shot, and I might try cropping them out, and cropping a litle off the top to maintain a similar "wide ratio" aspect to the image.
