Need help with chapped lips

I was hoping somebody could give me a pointer for fixing the VERY chapped lips on my recent photos. These were very spur of the moment shots so she and I weren't really focused on the particulars, (like chapped lips!) but we both ended up really liking these shots and want to use these as headshots. The second photo is my attempt with PhotoShop to disguise a little of the January outside lips. Is there more I can do? Thanks so much.

pretty good. You can also try removing the dark spot in the corner of her lips on the photo's right side (her left side) since its just a little distracting. But good job.

I am sure there are a thousand ways to do something like this. You may even try something as simple as the smudge tool with a feathered brush.

Thanks! I really didn't notice that darker spot until you pointed it out. I've been studying pictures on this site for a while now and it's amazing what I still DON'T see.
