I went to a local store to check one, I shot some photos indoor and outdoor, please let me know do they look like the normal performance of the lens? I set the body to save raw + JPG low resolution. All these images are from the low resolution files directly from the camera without any processing.

Please let me know, if you own this lens, the pictures represents the proper performance of this lens or not?

It's tough to tell much, but the outdoor shot of the grasses looks reasonably sharp at all four edge and corner areas, so yeah, it's probably "okay". There's nothing in focus in the upper left quadrant, but the other three quadrants look pretty sharp. The other photos all are close-range, shallow DOF snaps.

Looks fine. I had the 17-55 2.8..fantastic lens! But it was just too big and heavy for my liking.

Here are some pictures I've taken using that lens. When I had it, I really did like it, it was sharp, focus was quick and accurate and the colors it produced was pleasing.

The 17-55mm f2.8 is not a particularly sharp lens, especially between 35mm to 55mm. It's a great lens if you don't intend to crop in much between 35mm and 50mm though.

I wouldn't buy it unless if it's a good used copy at the right price. New, it's practically a scam at $1500.

I got mine for $700 used. It was worth it.
