need some new wide nikon glass

i am in the market for a new lens. although i am a bit skeptical, i might consider buying from a company thats not nikon. i want to get something wider than 35, under 700 dollars and opens up to at least f/4.

thanks for your help and i would appreciate if you only recommended lenses that you know are good from personal experience.

i'd recommend the sigma 10-20mm. iut does everything you want and is a fraction of the price of the nikkor equivalent.

There is the sigma 10-20 f/4-5.6 $480 as mentioned above.
But Sigma also put out a newer faster version that is a constant f/3.5 $650

you shooting full-frame/film or digital?

If FX then I'd say either the 20mm, 24mm, or 28mm prime (all of which are f/2.8 AF-D), depending on how much of that super-wide effect you want. Otherwise, that Sigma above is probably your best choice.
