needing some close-ups

im wanting to get some really good close ups. the smallest lens i have is an 18x105. im shooting with a d90 and ive seen several micros on the market but am not sure what i need before i spend the money

Just make sure the macro you get is a true macro, which means it's 1:1 magnification.

This is starting to really make me wonder. What's the deal with not using capitol letters. Shift key is broken? Lazy? Can't be bothered? It looks cool? :scratch:

What's your budget for this as well as your intended subjects for these closeups.

As you can see there is a range of options on the market at various prices - from high to low. Also the demends for different subjects change - if your shooting flowers and products your going to have different needs than if your shooting insects.
