When do you think Canon will introduce the new 1Ds (IV).
I am thinking about buying a 5D Mark II or waiting for the new 1Ds.
I don't want to get the 1D Mark IV because I would like to have the full frame....
I think it is the time that Canon launches the new 1Ds.... What do you think?

I thought the 1D MKIV was full frame?

Edit: I went to canonusa.com and checked. Nope it's only APS-H size. Amazing!

$5000 top-of-the-line digital camera, and a crop sensor. :lmao:

The Mark II came out in 2004, the Mark III in 2008...Nikon's D3 is slated for replacement in 2011...I do not expect the 1Ds Mark IV until 2011 or even 2012. The year 2010 is more than half over, and I doubt the IV will hit the streets this year. It "could" of course.

Yep, the 1.3x crop, which is perfect for sports. Gets a little extra reach while retaining the benefits of a larger sensor. I'm surprised you didn't know that about such a big-name camera...

Anyway, even CanonRumors has nothin on the 1Ds IV other than it MIGHT be announced at the big Canon expo in september or in the August 11th announcement which should reveal the 2000D, 60D, and new 24-70 IS. With the price point and performance of the 5DII, I'm guessing sales of the $7,000 1Ds have dwindled a lot. But of course, this is based on me completely guessing and have no numbers to actually back that up.

I would also suggest they're still riding the high from the 5DII.
