Hi there i am new to photography and have aquired a new fuji finepix s6500. What i would like to know is how to speed up the shutter speed to take action shots as i have not been able to do this.

S should be shutter mode, change the dial to that. You need good light, or you need to kick up the iso higher. Beware of digital noise when you do that.

Iso is at 200 then, which is ok as long as you have a lot of light. See if there is an option in the menus to change the iso. Also RTFM to the camera. :)
