That first portrait is such a friendly, friendly smile. Pity about her fingertips, I feel those should really have been inside the frame, too!

But - as we can see from your self-portrait - you're still young and can still learn :D !

You know I never really caught that and now that you say thatI realized how much it changes the picture for me... and I'm pretty young rolling in at 22 I just had my birthday on the 10th. I still have a ton to learn It's like everyday is a chance to get that much better....

On this one I offered a retouch on the teeth but they said that what make it so him is the "snaggle tooth" so here it is and the great thing is everyone total loves this picture when they see it ....

I think you need to pay more attention to compositional detail ... like you cut off the girl's ellbows, while otherwise the frame offers room enough for all of her to be in there. And she may have rubbed a bit of mascara into her eye which made it go all red, and if that happened, then Photoshop might help you to reduce the effect - I find her eye pretty fiery red where it points towards the nose ...
 
I agree with Lafoto. Don't cut off the joints either in crop on in comp. :)
