Hey guys I'm new here and am excited to be here, I just purchased a Nikon D40 and am interested in taking picture's of cars and other motorized things. I am still getting used to it cause it is my first DSLR

I have the feeling you'll really enjoy your D40 once you learn the basic features - I know I do. It's funny, at first I was afraid I couldn't adjust aperture and shutter speed and I read about people calling the D40 a big P&S. Once I learned how to set the aperture and shutter speed, I was a very happy camper though . Please let us know if you ahve any questions.
