New guy, new to SLR

I just got D40x this week. love it so far. I have had a Fuji Film S5000 for a few years and it worked great. Car shows, Vacations, etc. But I have a daughter on the way and also want to get into photography as another hobby. So I went out and got the D40x. Now on to the learning and more pictures to come. Soon I hope to get some more lenses and filters and explore the world of the slr. Here are some pics I took. no editing, just shoot and download. comments?

hummm. That's a hard one. I think I would have to choose an indoor car shoot. I love cars and taking pictures of exotics and custom cars. I also find indoor pictures to be more challenging than outdoor due to the lighting.

So indoor car show is my pick
