Hi there, I've been taking pictures for many years now with small cameras just for fun, and recently received a gift.........a Panasonic Lumix FZ-35 camera, ever since i've been taking pictures and confirmed this new passion.

I've taken pictures on high Jpeg 12MP, but now i'm trying to figue out how to use raw for the better quality.

here are a few samples of my work, i have uploaded them to my facebook so there may be a slight quality loss.

All constructive criticism is HIGHLY appreciated! thank you

thanks!

I think photos 1 and 2 are interesting, but 3 and 4 don't do anything for me, visually. Where is #1 taken?

Number 1 was taken in Percé, Quebec, Canada a wonderful place, on a foggy morning

Anyone have any aspects i could improve on ?

i'm relatively new to the whole photography thing, but its a passion i love and i seem to understand the basic aspects of it :p

I love the colors and textures you brought out. I think your focus on details is really going to help you get some beautiful pictures!

^ The lighthouse in that 2nd set is a nice composition. I like how the shoreline of rocks leads your eye up to the lighthouse. The water is beautiful and super-blue. I'd take the time to clone out the power line at the top left as well as the pole. I'd maybe take a tiny bit off the bottom.. But honestly I think you should print this and hang it on the wall.

That picture definitely stands out among the others from the 2nd set - and the pictures from the first post as well.

definately will do once i get my photoshop reinstalled on my main computer!

thanks, I worker real hard to get the composition through, i only know the basics but hold on hard to them !

I don't think the lighthouse picture is very interesting, but it is a good composition for two reasons. You used the rocks in the foreground to give depth to the photo, and the shoreline acts as a leading line toward the lighthouse. Good work. I love to see good composition even if the subject is not engaging.

Personally, I like the lightbulb picture because of the tones and the texture on the wall. And of course the very first picture is a winner as well.

thanks, i tried really hard to get it all working together and make the subject pop out.

I need to know better theory on taking people portraits...... I ordered a 3 peice lightnig kit with backgrounds and umbrellas.........waiting for it to arrive and then learn HOW TO USE IT

keep em comin!
