New Lens for Nikon D40

Hey everyone. Seeing as it is nearing christmas, I have the opportunity to maybe get a new lens for my Nikon D40.

I share all my lenses with my dad and we have quite a collection already.

Nikkor: 18 - 55 mm
18 - 105 mm
55 - 200 mm
70 - 300 mm
35 mm f1.8G

Sigma: 10 - 24 mm

Is there any lens that would be a good addition to our collection? I was thinking about getting myself the new 18 - 200mm VR lens, as I use the 18 - 55 mm most 55 - 200 mm.

Looks like you have enough 3.5-5.6 glass, I'd continue on the path you started with the 35 1.8 and start trading up.

Maybe look into some Tamron/Sigma/Tokina constant f/2.8 lenses in various ranges.

To auto focus on your D40 look for the following:
Sigma's AF-S = HSM
Tamron's AF-S = BIM (I think)
Not sure what Tokina calls theirs.
